Hong Kong & China's trip 2008

After weeks of procrastinating, here is the post on my Hong Kong & China trip 2008 finally!
20th November to 30th November 2008 happy journey :)
Departure Day
On the day of departure, ming drove us to the airport.
So many luggages...

Yong's first time taking plane..
He was so excited on the way.

Departure gate- the start of our journey =)

Waiting to board the plane..

4 hours of flight and we reached HK airport finally :)
So excited....
His 1st picture in HK

The streets in HK at night was COLD and WINDY!!!
Finally reached grandma's place and was welcomed by this cute dog..
My aunt calls her 'ball ball' because she shapes like a ball haha.

Even my mum whom dislike dogs thinks she is cute too...
Even surprisingly, the cat which has been with my grandma since my last visit 3 yrs back was still there.
Dog and cat living under the same roof...
THe active dog is actually afraid of the fierce cat. HMMMmmmmmmmmmmm

How I want to put her into my luggage n bring her home lolz.
She is a dear....
She would always climb onto my lap when I sat on the floor and lay there comfortably...
ANd she only does that to me lolz..
Mum said maybe ball ball knew I dote her a lot.. cute*
Some restaurants in HK allows u to bring dogs in.
And I brought her along to the restaurant for dinner once.
It obediently sat and waited to be fed :) So cute.
Why can't sg be more flexible to allow such 'bonding' between pet and owner.. ?

Shen Zheng and Guang Zhou- Day 2

THe next morning we took a train to Shen Zheng.
A day of eating, manicure & pedicure and shopping!

Mum and Sis in the midst of service lolz.

N who says guys do not take care of their nails huh?

Spent 3 to 4 hours mani & pedi-curing,
then went to shop before taking the evening train to Guang Zhou...
Sis and I bought a pair of boots each, happy :)
CHEAP AND SO MANY VARIETIES AVAILABLE!!!
SHOE PARADIZE.
I love boots.
It is so much comfortable than any other foot wears, really.
But sadly, singapore is not a very suitable place to wear boots HAIZ.

REached Guang Zhou on the same night and cousin fetched us to the hotel.
That night, we had dinner with Grandma and my uncle's family....
So heartwarming :)
Day 3- the day of cousin's wedding
After morning tea, 2 of my cousins n her bf accompanied us to the famous streets to shop before the wedding dinner.

Took this outside our hotel room while waiting for the rest to be ready in the morning... *yawn*

Crowded streets..
MANY MANY SHOPS as u can see...
The length of Orchard Road to Dhoby Ghaut or maybe even City Hall, flooded with shops n malls.

Sis and I were shopping, patroning almost every shoe and apparels shop, while the rest just followed.. haha.
Kinda stress to shop when the rest were not...
Well, they said it was their task lolz.
Night time at the restaurant for cousin's wedding.

All my cousins :)
1st time with all my cousins (mother's side) around.
Pathetic right, haha.

The nice scenery outside the restaurant

Day 4- Shopping
Next day went to another famous street to continue our shopping.

And we had wanton mee in the shop :)
Nice noodle.. yummy

BIG candy floss
Yong stealing a bite..

After a day of endless walking,
cousin brought us for foot massage,
CHEAP!
SG$6 for an hour, inclusive a few mins of body massage before starting...
An enjoyment :)

Even the youngest one had the luxury to soak his feet in the warm herbal water.

Nite time, we had another scrumptious dinner.
That day we ate 4 meals. How I missed it :(

With my grandma

Mum & I in the hotel
That was our last nite in Guang Zhou.
The next morning we took a ferry to Macau.

Macau- Day 5

Stayed in Venetian hotel for a night...
Another luxury :)
One of my auntie whom works there got us half price for the hotel stay,
how nice!!
And the smallest room is a suite!!
How grand!

This is the bathroom... behind that white door is the toilet...
So spacious!

The comfy beds..

The room!

The big round mirror

EXPENSIVE burger set!
This cost SG $22.
I can buy 2 sets of carl's junior meal in sg.

Taking my own sweet time lolz.

The hotel bath robe...

We took a cab out of the hotel to some place.
ANd we had this pork burger n noodle.. yummy.

Afternoon time, we took the express ferry back to HK!!
And that marked our last few days of holiday.

The small little world....

The last show was the fireworks.
It started to 'snow' as everyone started to leave...
fake snow that was.
Disneyland is the children's paradise..
Not adults, not as fun as ocean park.

Day 9- Shopping at lady's street
We went shopping with cousin.
We didn't buy many clothing because everywhere were selling cold wears...
What a waste...
We had covered the sky, road and sea transport within 10 days :)
I like the cold weather there too....
Very chilling and got to wear thick clothing :)
But the down side was, there weren't many summer clothing to shop during this season.
Day 10- Home
I wasn't sad that the journey had ended.
Because I finally get to see ppl whom I had missed dearly back in singapore :)

I was disappointed at work and upset over some comments.
Shared it with a friend today during break and her words comforted me a little.
After work met up with CF after our long holiday respectively,
and felt more relieved after telling her the story.
Back to a happy gal now :)

One of them told me,
Others can comment on what u do, ignore it and it will be resolved somehow.
Maybe.

I was at Plaza Sing while waiting for ming few days back and saw some lucky dolls in a shop.
THe word lucky captured my attention.
I was thinking, 'maybe this is what I need now, luck.'
Knowing that the lucky dolls doesn't possess any supernatural powers to bring me any luck, but I still bought 1 for myself.
To encourage myself to move on n work hard, hahaa.
Crazy I know. 1st time buying DOLLS for myself.
I bought 1 for ming and 1 for CF, hoping to bring a smile to them too haha!
Must take care of it ar... =p

Watched Beast Stalker with ming few days back,
this movie was launched in HK during my stay there and I had planned to watch it once I return.
It was only rated 2 stars in yahoo movie, and ming was havign doubt to watch it.
I ignore it's rating n went ahead to watch it- I believe in my judgement that it is going to be a nice film hahaa!
Indeed it was, a catchy one! =)

After work today went to Cineleisure with Lina for movie, Cape 7.
THe review of this movie was wonderful, which I had quite high hopes on it.
But it was disappointing, which I would only rate it 2 stars or less.
Or maybe I do not know how to appreciate kinda touchy show.

Lately I have been thinking a lot.
I am tired of repeating, waiting and anticipating some things.
I questioned if I am going to be happy if somethings r left unchange?
Will things ever be better?

I want more.
No, I NEED more.

Sometimes I feel like giving up to search for what I need.
I'm not sure how satisfied I will be if I chose that path.
I thought, maybe I will get more in return if I were to stay.
So I'm here.
Hoping and still beliving is the right choice.

But I don't know if there were going to be a day I am drained and decide to run away from all these,
and never return.

Dad's bday

Today is Dad's birthday,

Ming brought along a bottle of red wine to the restaurant too.
Sis n I are crab lovers- we consumed most of the chili crabs and black pepper crabs =)

Bought a new dvd player with my coupon at Giant today.
And ming fixed the played in the living room for us.
Mum started to watch the HK drama- Heart of Greed.
Bought the Hk dramas- vol 1 & 2 in HK, fair bargain ;)

The fastest way to lose weight... go to work

Today was one of the WORST morning shift, again.
I was busy with 2 patients whom I spent the whole day on.
1 whom needed urgent ICU bed, while another needed urgent S/C continuous sedation etc..
And I had yet to do the morning doctor's round changes for the other patients.
How I wished there were 2 of me.

It was already 5.30pm when I finally got to sit down to complete my 2 discharges report,
when I should be off duty at 3.15pm.
Left the ward only at 6.30pm...
And no help was offered throughout, how sad.
I am not expecting anyone to help me when they have their own responsibilities too,
but how nice would it be if someone offer to help when u r struggling to multi- task alone.
It needs not be excessive, even words of concern would have make me feel much better.

And it was not my team-mates whom noticed it.
It was the palliative doctor whom had been struggling with that patient with me for the whole afternoon noticed I was still busy around in the evening.
ANd she even apologised for stressing me n told me to take it easy.
I was comforted for a moment.
But ain't it ironical to hear that from someone whom I had worked with for only 2 days while the others had been with me for a yr?

SHAG. 2 more days to my weekends off.
I do need a good rest.

Hunger

I miss those few days in China where we ate 4 heavy meals everyday.
1st day back to work and I had to skip my lunch n dinner.
1 biscuit n milo for breakfast until night when I reached home...
MAn.... Y did I grumble about eating so much when I was in China.... *slap*
